The Montreal Canadiens and Toronto Maple Leafs renew their hostilities on Saturday. The Canadiens lost the first meeting between the teams but they are favored on the money lines to equal the season series in the second matchup this weekend.
Since losing their regular season opening game to Toronto at home, the Habs have played well at the Bell Centre. They’ve won five of their last six while allowing just 11 goals in the process.
The Maple Leafs won’t be particularly intimidated by the Habs home-ice advantage because they’ve already thwarted it once this season. As a matter of fact, the Leafs have won four of their last five trips to Montreal. They’ve also started this season with wins in four of their first five road games.
Both of these teams are jockeying for position in the East standings just inside the playoff hunt, so each of their matchups in this shortened season will be critical. Keep an eye on the money lines on Saturday as they could slightly alter depending who is at net for both sides.
