Uruguay are expecting a judgement from FIFA today on Luis Suarez’s disciplinary proceedings, in what looks like that Suarez may escape a two year ban and may end up with a minimal four game ban suspension for the Liverpool and ex AJax forward
We can reveal to you that Uruguay have demanded private discussions with FIFA about the matter and they have top lawyers who are taking care of their interests. They have not admitted tha tSuarez actually bit Chellini, and they are denying all the accusations. Furthermore video evidence is still not 100% clear and this may prove to be the upper Ace hand iin this battle with FIFA. A four game ban will still however end all hopes of his world cup, and after fighting so hard in pursuing fitness six weeks before the start of the world cup, this is something he would not have wanted to happen to him.
We can reveal to you that until last night, no decision was reached during the disciplinary hearing at the Copacabana Palace hotel in Rio de Janeiro overnight.
Uruguay FA president Wilmar Valdez, who emerged from the hotel at around midnight local time (4am BST), said: “We know they met for a long time but we don’t know if that means a good or a bad situation. They will continue in the morning.”
