The preseason Eastern Conference favorite meets the current East favorite on Saturday when the New York Rangers visit the Pittsburgh Penguins. The Rangers were expected to be the team to beat but they’ve struggled mightily while the Pittsburgh Penguins have impressed.
The Pens offense has carried them this season as they lead the NHL in goals scored. As a matter of fact, they’re they only team to have surpassed the century-mark as most of the league has yet to even reach 90.
One of those teams laboring to light the lamp is the Rangers, who are among the most offensive-challenged teams in the NHL. They’ll need to find some kind of a spark as the Pens have already beaten them twice this season while outscoring them 9-3. Pittsburgh has won five straight at home while average 4.2 goals per game in those wins.
The Penguins will be favored on the money line on Saturday as the two teams square off in a matinee. Make sure you get your action in early for this 1:00 PM ET start.
