At the beginning of the season, the Detroit Red Wings were deemed to be one of the Western Conference’s best contenders. Their preseason odds to win the Stanley Cup were 12/1 but with just five games remaining, they are now down to 40/1 and are fighting to even qualify for the postseason.
The Red Wings have dropped out of the top eight in the West and could really use a win. The good news is that they’ve had some success against the team they’ll be facing on Saturday. The Red Wings have not only defeated the Vancouver Canucks twice this season, they’ve throttled them while scoring 13 goals in the two wins.
The Canucks will be looking for some revenge and they might just get it considering how poorly the Red Wings have played recently. Detroit has dropped four of their last five while scoring just nine goals in the process. Meanwhile, the Canucks have won six straight at home while outscoring their opponents 19-5.
If you think the Red Wings can continue their dominance over the Canucks, they are offering a good payoff on the moneylines as a road dog.
