The San Jose Sharks and Los Angeles Kings could be seeing plenty of each other in the coming weeks. That’s because they are right in the neighborhood of the four and five seeds, which means they could be squaring off up to seven more times in the first round of the playoffs.
Both the Kings and Sharks have clinched playoff berths, so it’s just a matter of where they’ll end up. That makes Saturday’s meeting critical as the winner will finish higher in the standings.
The Sharks are the underdog on the moneyline because they haven’t fared well away from home. They are just 2-3 on the road this month and they’ve scored just nine goals in the process.
The Kings enter the contest as losers of two straight and would like to end the regular season on a winning note. However, they’ve lost two of three to the Sharks this season. The good news is they’ve won their last six games at the Staples Center, so the home ice could prove to be the edge.
