Although not nearly as deep as some of its conference counterparts, the ACC lays claim to two of the top five college basketball programs in the AP polls. This Saturday those No. 3 Duke Blue Devils will look to flex their world-renowned muscle against the up-start No. 5 Miami Hurricanes.
After starting the 2012-13 campaign unranked altogether, the Hurricanes have established themselves as a team with March Madness aspirations – and not just a tournament appearance at that. Regular season wins over No. 19 North Carolina State and No. 13 Michigan State have done well to help convince fans and critics alike that they’re a legitimate NCAA betting option.
Combined, the Hurricanes and Blue Devils put the ACC on the radar when by and large it’s been the Big Ten Conference drawing much of the national attention from the college basketball betting community this season.
This Saturday, when the contenders collide at Cameron Indoor Stadium, consider it one ultimate display of what those who’ve overlooked the ACC this season have been missing. Come tournament time, after all, the conference a team comes from means nothing.
