NBA Preview: Boston Celtics vs. Toronto Raptors

With the NBA regular season about to come to an end, the Toronto Raptors are looking to finish in a good spot to hopefully take the number one overall draft pick while the Celtics are hoping to overcome a recent tragedy and win a spot in the playoffs. It is a risky bet that the Celtics will make the playoffs, but the season is not over yet.

Toronto Raptors

After a particularly bad season, the Toronto Raptors are hoping to bounce back next season with a number one overall draft pick. For now, they have to play out the rest of the season, and will face off on Wednesday night against the Celtics. Because of the recent events in Boston, few sports books are making a call on this game. The Raptors will be at home, but that does not mean they will necessarily have the advantage. They are straddling the .500 mark of at home wins and only boast a 32-48 record overall. Terrence Ross, Landry Fields and Jonas Valanciunas are all listed as day-to-day and we may not see them in this game.

Boston Celtics

The Celtics have not had the usual dominant season. They have been on several losing streaks and now only hail a 41-39 record, barley scraping above .500. They won their last game, but Tuesday’s game was cancelled because of the events at the Boston Marathon. The entire team in very shook up regarding what happened and that may affect them for tonight’s game. On top of that, Paul Pierce, Jeff Green and Kevin Garnett are all listed as day-to-day on the injury list. It has been a tough season, and Wednesday may not go much better if their 14-26 road record does not improve. Many betting sites cannot see the Celtics playing in the post-season this year but never say never.

Many sports betting websites and fans know that this game will be very evenly matched. It is hard to see a clear winner as of right now, but the Celtics may have a little more reason to win. The Raptors have won their last three in a row, including a hard fought victory over the Brooklyn Nets. The Raptors could win tonight if they are able to subdue the Celtics and hope that Paul Pierce doesn’t make an appearance on the court. However, the Celtics could use the energy from the city of Boston to win one for the fans, which does tend to rally a lot of athletes. This game really can go either way, so it could be very exciting for any sports fan whether they bet or not. Because this game has no playoff implication
