In a rematch of the Western Conference semifinals, the Los Angeles Clippers will look to put the past behind them and take on the San Antonio Spurs. The last time the two clubs met, it was the veteran Spurs steamrolling their way to a four-game series sweep. No wonder the NBA odds are in their favor.
Despite the dramatic result last season, San Antonio’s advantage on the NBA futures is almost negligible. With 13/2 odds of winning the NBA championship, the Spurs are far from overwhelming favorites against L.A. at 15/2.
On the individual NBA betting line though, anything could happen.
Currently neck and neck for first in the conference with last year’s west champion, the Oklahoma City Thunder, San Antonio appears to be, yet again, a force to be reckoned with.
Meanwhile, the Clippers have struggled to establish themselves as a legitimate contender. Although it’s clear that the Blake Griffin-Chris Paul duo puts L.A. toward the top of the NBA odds pile, they haven’t yet taken that next step toward the Larry O’Brien trophy.
Is this the year the Clippers cash in on their potential and live up to their lofty NBA odds?
