Alex Ferguson wants Jose Mourinho or Guardiola to replace him as Next Manchester United FC Boss.
In two years’ time, when Alex Ferguson is set to retire, it is absolutely no hidden secret that he has the Joker card, also known as the ‘Casting Vote’, and he will ultimately decide who replaces him at United.
The United manager has identified Mourinho and Guardiola as the leading candidates to take the reins at Old Trafford following his subsequent retirement.
In our opinion, Guardiola has a slight advantage over Mourinho due to one specific factor. Guardiola during his tenure at Barcelona took his ex- youth team players such as Busquets, Pique, Adriano to absolutely great heights. In fact in his first game in charge when Barca drew famously 1-1 at lowly Alaves, all the critics came out, and this proved to be his turning point. United have a great tradition in promoting young players from the academy system. Ferguson would like to call it ‘it is in our DNA’. Also, Ferguson tends to go for young players and see them develop, which is a same characteristic as Guardiola. Mourinho’s style is different. He believes in those 14 players that will get his through the season and he will try to play his best team every game in order to win the match.
The fact is that both of them have endured unlimited success. The decision may be a bit too close to call, but the bottom line is that , it appears, either one of the illustrious duo will take the helm when Ferguson retires in three years – if not before.
