MLB Betting – The Two Teams No Other Teams Want to Play in the MLB Playoffs

As the regular seasons shuts down, the online sports books get ready for what should be an interesting playoffs. In the AL, there may need to be a one-game playoff between the Baltimore Orioles and New York Yankees just to see who gets to play the one-game wild card playoff. The AL was truly chaotic this season and it was a lot of fun to watch as it went right down to the wire.

As the playoffs approach, the online casino players are already handicapping MLB teams and figuring out what kind of chances each team has to make it to the World Series. As always, there are those teams that the betting experts think have a slight edge over the rest of the field. It could be momentum that looks to carry a team forward, or it could be that the best players on a good team are all playing well at the same time and that makes a team dangerous. Whatever it is, these are the two teams that no one wants to play in the 2012 MLB playoffs.

Detroit Tigers

The legal online sports betting experts are trying to figure out exactly what AL team would want to play a Detroit team that has a Triple Crown winner and Cy Young candidate on it. It looks like Miguel Cabrera will be the first Triple Crown winner in the AL since Boston slugger Carl Yastrzemski did it in 1967. Not only that, but ace pitcher Justin Verlander is one again a strong candidate for the AL Cy Young award and he is also being mentioned in the voting for the AL MVP for the second year in a row.

The Tigers also have an extremely potent bullpen and first baseman Prince Fielder is finally living up to his big contract. The Tigers overwhelmed the White Sox in the last couple of weeks of the season to win the AL Central pennant. The same thing could happen in the playoffs.

Washington Nationals

If you bet on sports, then you know that the Washington Nationals have decided to sit its ace pitcher Stephen Strasburg for the playoffs. The Nationals actually sat Strasburg three weeks ago and Washington was still able to finish the season with four-game lead over the Atlanta Braves for the NL East pennant. Any team that can sit its ace and still put one of the most potent starting lineups in baseball on the mound is a pretty powerful team.

The only thing that other NL teams can hope for is that Bryce Harper keeps showing his youth and losing his temper as the playoffs open. A focused Harper gives the Nationals the best offense in baseball. A distracted Harper could open the Nationals up to getting surprised in the playoffs.
