Brendan Rodgers is looking forward to a night to remember after Liverpool were drawn at home to his former club Swansea City in the fourth round of the Capital One Cup. Rodgers, whose side are among the top dogs to win the League Cup for a second successive season, won 2-1 at West Brom to reach the last 16 and their new manager is looking forward to an Anfield clash with the Swans.
He told his current club’s official website: “I was in no rush to leave there; I was only going to leave there to go to another special club. “It will be a great night. To play Swansea at Anfield in front of two wonderful sets of supporters will be a really good night.” Chelsea have been handed a home clash with Manchester United in the fourth round, while there is a North-East derby at the Stadium of Light where Sunderland take on Middlesbrough.
