The No. 8 Michigan State Spartans looked impressive laying waste to the No. 4 Michigan Wolverines last week. Now they’ll look to see if they can beat the college basketball odds at home yet again, this time hosting the No. 1 team in the nation.
When the Indiana Hoosiers roll into the Breslin Center, the college basketball betting community will get one more chance to see and appreciate just how impressive the Big Ten Conference has been.
While the Hoosiers have come and gone from the top spot in the polls this season, they’ve returned thanks to an admirable showing in conference play since January. Not only has Indiana already beaten MSU once this season, but also fellow contenders Michigan and Ohio State.
This time around, however, the NCAA basketball odds acknowledge the Spartans as a capable foe. Other than the previous loss in Indiana and an opening loss to then-No. 9 Minnesota on December 31, MSU has gone unchallenged in conference play.
The stronger Michigan State starts to look in the final stretch of the college basketball season, the more familiar fans of the Tom Izzo-led squad will be. If any Big Ten club has emerged as the prize of the conference over the course of the past decade, it’s been MSU. Will it be enough to get them past the No. 1 Hoosiers?
