Best Sporting Events Of The Week

hi-res-158815298_crop_650x440It should be a busy week if you’re planning to do some sports betting as preseason wraps up in the NFL, college football returns, the MLB regular season winds down, the PGA playoffs roll on and there is double the action in the UFC. It’ll be a busy week in the sportsbook.

NFL Preseason

The final week of preseason takes place on Thursday and NFL betting fans will see a total of 16 games. Detroit-Buffalo kicks off the action at 7:00 PM as the Bills try to find some sort of solution for their quarterback issues. On the back end, Oakland-Seattle wraps things up with the Raiders trying to do the same thing after original starter Matt Flynn was benched in favor of Terrelle Pryor.

College Football

The NCAA season begins on Thursday with USC-Hawaii, but Saturday is the busy day with Georgia-Clemson, LSU-TCU and Boise State-Washington. The highlight of the day is Alabama-Virginia Tech as the Crimson Tide start their quest for a third straight national title.

MLB Baseball

Starting on Friday, there are a few matchups worth watching in MLB action. New York Yankees-Baltimore, St. Louis-Pittsburgh, Chicago White Sox-Boston and San Diego-Los Angeles Dodgers will be on display over the weekend.

PGA Golf

The second event in the FedEx Cup playoffs tees off on Friday with the Deutsche Bank Championship at TPC of Boston, where Rory McIlroy is the defending champ. Adam Scott came from behind to steal The Barclays and will be paired with Phil Mickelson and Tiger Woods, who is battling a back injury, so make sure he is entered before laying a bet on the 14-time major winner.

UFC

On Wednesday, the UFC features a Fight Night card in Indianapolis headlined by welterweights Carlos Condit and Martin Kampmann, who won the first meeting between the two in 2009. On Saturday, they go the PPV route with UFC 164, powered by a rematch between 155-pound king Ben Henderson and Anthony Pettis, who defeated Henderson in the WEC in 2010.
