Allen to join James at Cavs

Ray Allen has played basketball for 18 seasons as one of the best shooters in game. So what’s a 19th season if it means a chance at a ring?
Late Wednesday night, Allen was reported to be avoiding retirement and instead joining the Cleveland Cavaliers and LeBron James.
Allen, who is 39 years old, would join James after playing alongside him on the Heat last season and could provide a steady veteran presence for young stars like Kyrie Irving and Andrew Wiggins. That is if Wiggins stays in Cleveland, where he could be traded to the Timberwolves for star center Kevin Love.
A 10-time All Star, Allen is set to have an MRI on his knees Thursday to determine if he can still continue to play. Should he join Cleveland, he’d bring his 44 percent shooting from the field last season with him.
