After Wildcard Games, it’s the Real Deal in the MLB Post-Season

Online sportsbooks are filling up! I love October baseball. Apparently, a lot of online betting sites do too. When the bad teams are weeded out and the talent of well playing, well managed teams is able to clash on the diamond in a riveting elimination series of five or seven games, people are more willing to open up their wallets and place a bet. This could be the case for many reasons. Maybe a man’s team has made it to the playoffs by some fascinating twist of fate and he wants to support his team with cheering, but also believes in his team to the point that he would like to put money on it and hope to benefit financially. Perhaps a participant simply knows that more bets are placed during the playoffs and therefore sees the possibility of a bigger payday, because of more money in the pot. No matter the reason, this is an exciting time for Major League Baseball and an exciting time those who bet on sports.

With many games still to be played, there is some information you need to know in order to responsibly bet with education and knowledge. In this article, I will focus on The American League Division Series a couple AL East teams.

Series 1: New York Yankees vs. Baltimore Orioles (Series tied 1-1)

This is a great series, and it has proven to be so already in the first two games. At time of writing (before Game 3) both teams have looked strong in each of their wins in Camden Yards. Baltimore also played well in its wild card game against the Texas Rangers. The O’s were certainly the underdog against the Rangers, a team that has been incredibly successful in the last five years. In this series, the Orioles are once again the underdog team against the Yankees, a team that has been incredibly successful in the last five decades. It obvious, to any observer, that New York has a more talented team, and a much more expensive team. It is also evident that the Orioles are playing with more heart and with a more passionate fan base. The problem is that the Oriole fan presence will be very limited in the rest of the series. The final three games will all be held in the pit of baseball glory- Yankee Stadium. As a Red Sox fan myself, I would love to see the Yankees lose. Sadly, I do not believe this will be the case. This series may go the distance and take five games to play out, but I cannot responsibly choose the Orioles to win this series. However, my fingers will remain crossed.

My Pick: The New York Yankees

Now you have read my thoughts on the ALDS between the Yanks and the O’s. Now you have a little more information and can make an intelligent betting decision for yourself. Good luck and go Red Sox!
