The San Francisco Giants evened the World Series last night and they will send Madison Bumgarner to the hill when they host the Kansas City Royals in Game 5. Bumgarner has allowed just one run over 22 innings of three career World Series starts and he dominated Royals hitters while winning Game 1. The Royals will give the ball to James Shields, who struggled in the series opener.
The Giants won 11-4 last night as Hunter Pence had three hits and three RBIs while Pablo Sandoval and Joe Panik each drove in two runs. The loss was only the second this postseason for the Royals and now this will be a best-of-three series with only one more game left to be played in San Francisco. Kansas City needs Alex Gordon to get back on track, as he is 2-for-16 in the World Series and is batting .186 in the postseason.
James Shields (1-1, 7.11 ERA) vs. Madison Bumgarner (3-1, 1.40 ERA)
