The San Francisco 49ers seem to be playing very well right now, and that is in spite of some of the rumors surrounding their head coach. On Monday night they will be going after their third win in a row as they take on the St. Louis Rams in NFL betting action that is set to get underway at 8:30 PM ET at the Edwards Jones Dome. ESPN will handle the live telecast.
Last year the Niners came up with a sweep of the Rams, winning both by double-digit margins. And they did it by both land and air; in the first meeting, Frank Gore powered his way to 153 yards, and in the rematch Colin Kaepernick let it fly and passed for 275 yards.
With some of the player absences and forced transition on the defensive side, there have been an awful lot of plaudits to go around for the coaching staff. And that is a staff that is rumored to be on its way out at season’s end; not because they are going to be fired, but because Jim Harbaugh’s contract is running out, and he is rumored not to be getting along with too many people in the management end these days in his quest for an extension.
San Francisco 49ers -3 (-125)
St. Louis Rams +3 (+105)
Over 43.5 Points -110
Under 43.5 Points -110
The 49ers bottled up the Philadelphia Eagles and their high-tech offense a couple of weeks ago, though one must admit that Phllly was going through some issues with its offensive line. Still, this up-tempo squad got absolutely nothing going until a final drive in which they failed to get into the end zone from the one-yard line.
