The Los Angeles Lakers are running out of time to even qualify for the Western Conference playoffs, granted, but that doesn’t mean their upcoming matchup with the reigning champion Miami Heat isn’t the most anticipated clash on the basketball moneyline this season. Get NBA odds for when Kobe Bryant and company look to prove that there’s still hope for their season yet.
Although they’ve played better of late, L.A. has plenty of work to do before they make a serious run at the postseason. Despite it all, their NBA futures, though considerably lower than they were at the beginning of the season, remain among the league’s elite.
Miami, in contrast, has led the pack all season and never looked back. No mid-season losing streaks, no slow starts; nothing but a repeat campaign spearheaded admirably by likely-repeat MVP LeBron James.
So Lakers fans might not be ready to bet on the NBA championship, but they can weigh in on the individual Saturday matchup. With the Lake Show in South Beach, is it out of the question to think that they’ll find a way to cover the spread? To win outright?
This is what we play the regular season for.
