Western Conference Finals, Game 4:
San Antonio Spurs @ Memphis Grizzlies – Monday, May 27
When you go over your facts and prepare to make a play at any of the best betting sites around, you will see that the San Antonio Spurs went 0-3 on the road in the 2012 NBA Western Conference Finals against the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Spurs were very effective at establishing the tempo and style of play they wanted in home games in the 2012 West Finals, but they were clearly knocked off balance when they ventured on the road. The template has been established, and one needs to apply a healthy dose of skepticism to the Spurs this time around. One should not expect San Antonio to figure out the road-court problem in a conference final. The Spurs have to prove that they can beat Memphis on the Grizzlies’ home floor, especially since Memphis enters this series with a perfect 5-0 home record in the 2013 playoffs. San Antonio is still in good position to win this series, but winning in Memphis is going to be a very tough ask for the Spurs. San Antonio will need to hold serve at home in order to capture this best-of-seven competition. If you are betting on Spurs-Grizzlies games that take place in Memphis during this series, you should ride with the Grizzlies, even though they are the number five seed in the Western Conference.

Eastern Conference Finals, Game 4:
Miami Heat @ Indiana Pacers – Tuesday, May 28
No college football betting expert can deny the importance of matchups, and even though Game 2 of this series has not yet taken place (it tips off on Friday night in Miami), one can already see that Indiana is not going to make life easy for Miami when the Heat have the ball. Indiana is a terrific defensive team. Center Roy Hibbert denies the rim to LeBron James, and you could see this in Game 1. LeBron settled for more jumpers than he normally does. He was somewhat reluctant to take the ball all the way to the basket with Hibbert near the rim. Indiana did a really good job for most of Game 1 in this key respect: It forced other Heat players to make jump shots. Udonis Haslem, Ray Allen, Shane Battier, Chris Bosh – they missed jumpers more regularly than they made them. If these role players can’t step up and hit shots, Indiana can continue to keep Hibbert near the rim instead of forcing him outside the paint to guard Bosh. The Pacers can do so much more on defense if Miami is not getting perimeter shooting from its role players.
When people make a bet on sports, they know that they should respect a champion, but they should also look at home-court advantage as well. Online football betting gurus who don’t devote their attention to the NBA could still point out that at least one team with home-field advantage in the latter rounds of the NFL playoffs usually makes the Super Bowl. The San Francisco 49ers had home-field advantage in the divisional round of this past season’s NFL playoffs and made the Super Bowl. The year before, the New England Patriots turned the trick. Playing at home in the playoffs matters, and entering this series, Indiana has not lost a home game in the 2013 postseason. The Pacers are 6-0 at home, having won three games apiece against the Atlanta Hawks and the New York Knicks. Take Indiana in Game 4 of this contentious series.
